Hi, I’m Rachel – your accredited nutrition coach and the founder of Wellness Active Nutrition.
My journey into nutrition began in my late 20s when I took up running and regular exercise. Over time, I made gradual, sustainable changes to my diet to support my performance, manage chronic pain from a spinal injury, and improve my overall well-being. Those small steps led to big results—and along the way, I discovered a deep passion for evidence-based nutrition. That passion eventually led me to formally study nutrition, so I could help others experience the same positive changes in their lives.
I now specialise in general health and well-being, weight loss (including fat loss and body recomposition), endurance sports nutrition, and women’s nutrition—including during perimenopause and post-menopause, when hormonal changes can influence nutritional needs, energy levels, and body composition. Having personally been on various diets, including low-carb, keto, low-FODMAP and plant based, I understand that no single approach works for everyone. That’s why I focus on tailoring nutrition plans based on each person’s needs, lifestyle, activity level, and time constraints.
A key part of my approach is supporting overall health through a varied intake of nutrient-dense foods, alongside optimising macronutrient balance to ensure the right amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and fats for each individual. This is particularly important for women across different life stages and for active individuals. I stay up to date with the latest nutrition science and research, so my recommendations are always grounded in evidence.
Beyond nutrition, I have a passion for endurance running and have completed multiple races, even winning my first trail marathon back in 2018. I also love gardening and appreciate the connection between fresh, whole foods and well-being. In addition, I’m passionate about going to the gym to build strength and improve my health. I know from personal experience that all these activities require great nutrition to keep me fuelled, feeling my best, and recovering well each day. My goal is to help people learn to eat well so they can feel their best and thrive in life.
